Office of the State Controller Releases August 2021 Financial Report

For Fiscal Year 2022, when compared to the prior year through August 31, North Carolina experienced a decrease in General Fund receipts which includes tax and non-tax receipts.  Tax revenues decreased by $348.3 million or 7.2 percent, and non-tax revenues decreased by $10.2 million, or 15.1 percent as compared to the previous year.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of August 2021 was $7.6 billion as compared to $3.7 billion as of August 2020.
