For Fiscal Year 2025, when compared to the prior year through September 30, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $104 million or 1.3 percent, and non-tax revenues increased by $163.6 million, or 58.3 percent as compared to the previous year.
The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of September 2024 was $3.2 billion as compared to $6.6 billion as of September 2023.
